This time, we ventured deep into the heart of Tōhoku, Japan’s wild, soulful, and often-overlooked northern region.

Last time we visited Japan, we had just three weeks and stuck to the classics—Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka. But now? With nearly a year to explore and an insatiable appetite for adventure (and, let’s be honest, Japanese food), we dove headfirst into a full month of exploring Japan’s rugged countryside, cultural gems, and natural wonders—from Aomori in the north all the way down to Fukushima.
